Author Biographies
Zaira Novoa Rodríguez (Instituto de Altos Estudios Nacionales)
A lawyer with a master’s degree in International Human Rights Protection. She is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Legal and Political Sciences. Her academic and research work focuses on human rights, interculturalism, and human mobility. She has extensive teaching experience at the Institute of Higher National Studies (Instituto de Altos Estudios Nacionales, IAEN), where she has taught the following courses: Degree Seminar, Legal Research Methodology, Theory of the State, International Litigation, and Victims, Reparations, and Restorative Justice. In addition, he coordinates the Master’s Program in Notarial and Registry Law. He has received recognition for his work in defending the rights of refugees in Venezuela (Caritas/UNHCR, 2009) and for his leadership in research on the human mobility of Ecuadorians transiting through Mexico (National Assembly, 2024).
Juliana Díaz Pantoja (Universidad de Tarapacá)
She holds a law degree from the University of Nariño (Colombia), a master’s degree in law with a concentration in family law, and a doctorate in law from the University of Talca (Chile). She was a postdoctoral researcher at the Institute of Social Sciences at the University of O’Higgins, where she also served as a professor in the law program. Her academic and research career focuses on human rights, the rights of children and adolescents, family law, international law, migration, and human mobility, with a special emphasis on the legal protection of vulnerable individuals.
