Central Issue coordination
The Journal Editors Committee is the body that evaluates the submissions for the Central Issue Section and selects those who will coordinate each issue. These requests will be considered as long as they meet the following requirements:
*Adjusting to IAEN´s line of work.
*Main Issue relevance justification.
*Avoid proposing Main Issue themes and sub-themes from past calls.
*Propose up to two coordinators. One of them must an IAEN member.
*Declare time availability of those who coordinate the issue.
Once the request is approved, the secretary of the Council will notify the journal’s coordinating team. The chosen coordinators will be in charge of writing the text of call for papers, defining the subtopics (between 4 and 7) related to the Central Issue and proposing the supporting bibliography, under the supervision and help of the Editorial Board. The Editorial Board Chairman approves the final text of the call for papers. This planning is carried out one year in advance of the journal’s publication issue.
State & Commons Journal is responsible for making the call for papers in the Central Issue and Conjuncture sections. These calls for papers, are public and open, they are published on social networks, the institutional website, S&C`s Open Journal System (OJS), among other channels, in addition to being disseminated through e-mails and institutional letters. This dissemination strategy has the support of the S&C’s Communications Director, the editor and coordinators. If for any reason the coordinators cannot continue in their position until the issue is published, they must propose a specialist on the subject. This proposal must be known and approved by the Editorial Board.
*The editor defines the index or the articles order of publication according to the score sent by the peer reviewers.
*The coordinators must write the Journal´s Central Issue presentation, which will have a maximum length of 2500 words. It consists of an introductory analysis that addresses the relevance of the Central Issue along with the presentation of the articles to be published.
*The coordinators are in charge of the Interviews section. This implies choosing the interviewee -whose profile must fit the Central Issue-, conduct the interview and transcribe it. This input will be delivered to the editor for later editing.
